“Do it Yourself” Compilation – Fall 2010

Our purpose of this compilation is to help out independent artists who are looking for another outlet to help promote and showcase their music.  We expect to capture a wide variety of sounds like rock, acoustic, metal, punk, experimental and more. This will help expose your music to others as well as expose others to your music.

The breakdown is as follows:
2000 CD’s will be printed.
100 are given to each band (15 bands).

How you can effectively distribute them:
Most local mom and pop record stores allow promotional material on their counters. Some larger retail stores do as well. With permission of store owner or manager arrange your comp CD’s. If you do choose to do this, please let us know where, so we can alert people on our site where they are available.

They are great handouts for people at shows who show interest but spend their money at the bar instead. You still have a chance to put your music in their hand.

The remaining 500 will be used in the following manner:
Our current roster of acts will get 2 dozen to have at their merch stand at shows.
We will be sending to over 2 dozen mom and pop shops from NY to CA for
promotional use.

Bands Needed For Fall Compilation
Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend and supported. We met tons of great people and are very thankful to all of those for helping to make the entire event a complete success. The amazing guitar that David Frank painted was won by Ed Melee and he was nice enough to pose for some great pics. He is an Avid guitar player and told us that he played on the Maplewoodstock stage earlier. Kind of cool. Again, thanks to everyone who came by to check out our art and music and thanks to all of the great volunteers and organizers. We had a blast!
Maplewoodstock 2010 ~ Many Thanks!!
